# JSTDRMN DJ Bootcamp
We will take you from no music experience to your first DJ performance. This picture features bootcamper FIZE with his new fans!

Do you ever look at the headliner and think that should be me? Or go to a show and think that you can do muuuuch better?
While you can try booking your own shows at a local bar or cold calling promoters, this bootcamp accelerates your DJ career way faster with experience on industry standard CDJ-3000s and professional media coverage to build your portfolio.
The program has 5 in-person weekly classes (3 hours each), and there will also be online support during the week. To maintain a high quality of education, bootcamps are limited to 5 students
At the end of this bootcamp, you will be booked for a JSTDRMN Showcase, where you can debut your artist project to hundreds of fans, collaborators, and industry professionals. And this is just the beginning! Our past bootcampers have gone on to book opening acts with international touring artists and start their own events series!

# DJ Bootcamp Sessions
Here's what we will be covering in each of the 5 weeks! Sessions will be 1-4 PM on Saturday.
**Session 1: Mastering Foundational Mixing Tools (Sept 19th)**
- **Do your first transition!** Master non-FX tools for seamless transitions
- Practical guidance on CDJ-3000s and DJM-A9 mixer
- Focus on synchronization and pitch controls to align BPMs
- Focus on the crossfader & volume faders to execute smooth and rapid transitions
- Learn where to find hidden gems build your library! 💎
Session 2: **Mix Techniques and Live FX (sept 26th)**
- Focus on dynamic mix techniques and effects (FX)
- Learn the principles of using EQ (Low, Mid, High) to blend frequencies
- Learn the practical application of filters (high-pass/low-pass)
- Master Delay and Reverb to add rhythm and movement to tracks
- Practice the creative use of Loops to build intensity and groove
- Learn **mix saving strategies** to recover from technical glitches
**Session 3: Set Structure and Performance Planning (Oct 3rd)**
- Create a live performance set
- Learn strategies for reading the crowd
- Structure sets based on set time
- Craft a DJ Intro to engage the audience

**Session 4: Dress Rehearsal! (Oct 10th)**
- Test your debut set in a with your fellow bootcampers
- Receive direct tips and tricks tailored to your performance
- **Perfect your mindset** for your JSTDRMN Showcase debut
