With so much information online, many aspiring producer get stuck jumping between tutorials without ever completing a song.

In this hands-on program, you’ll follow a clear, step-by-step framework to build your first track from start to finish while working directly with experienced producers in a small classroom environment.

Instead of guessing your way through production, you’ll receive real-time feedback, guidance, and support from both your instructors and the JSTDRMN producer community.

By the end of this bootcamp, qualifying track will be released on Spotify and other streaming platforms, giving you your first real step as an artist.

Yuzu

Yuzu is a multitalented musician, director, and educator dedicated to growth and community. With years of experience directing orchestras and Canada’s largest a cappella group, Yuzu has turned his attention to the EDM scene.

As an educator, Yuzu breaks music down to its core, tailoring lessons on the spot and prioritizing hands-on learning. His approach builds muscle memory, confidence, and results—helping students learn at least 4x faster than with traditional methods.

Production Bootcamp Sessions

Here's what we will be covering in each of the 5 weeks! Each in-person session will be ~3 hours.

Session 1: Inspiration and making your first beat

Kick things off with a banger starting idea. You'll learn the fundamental beats for each genre and use your favourite sounds to make a banger idea. In this process, you'll also learn to discover the sound that you want to make, and how to stand out from other artists.

Session 2: Chords, Melodies, and Synthesis

Add emotion to your track with chords and synths. In this class, you will begin thinking of music through emotion. We'll help you pick sounds and synths that matches your vision, laying the perfect ground work to build off of.

Session 3: Industry Secrets to Great Musical Ideas

What makes the professional tracks so catchy and engaging? How do artists tie their songs together? In this class we focus on how to make your music flow, engaging and live in your listeners' head rent free.

Session 4: Musical Storytelling Through Layering and FX

Detail is the name of the game to making a track sound professional and rich. In this class, we'll add layers to your track, making sure your listeners are feeling the exact emotion you are trying to convey. We'll combine this with effects too really take your track to the next level.

It’s polish time! As you all know, finishing a track is one of the hardest parts of being a producer. How do you know when you're done? How do you fill the missing holes? How do you make your track stand out?
